JISC Announced the New Standards for Shape-stable Shirts

2018/01/08

JISC(Japanese Industrial Standards Committee) announced the new test methods and acessments on shape-stable shirts on December 20th, 2017.

Production of shape-stable shirts is skyrocketing in Japan. JISC intends to classify the shirts in 5 different grades and let apparel manufacturers put the grade marks in their products. This is to exclude low quality shape-stable shirts and let consumers clearly know the grade with ease.

It is said about 15 million shape-stable shirts are brought to cleaning shops in a year in Japan.  Cleaning industry keeps growing collaborating with apparel industry while cleaning shops need to know how to deal with the shirts correctly.
