India Report
It was really first trip to India in my life. I visited India in February. It is very big country and its population is 1.3billion. I sometimes feel strange to see India.
Anyway, I had three purpose to be there then.
- To see the exhibition Laundrex India
- To see the status of ongoing project in Bangalore
- To see new factory just opened in Mumbai
Clean India Show

1st day
As you may know, as LCNi magazine introduced the business of dry cleaning and laundry in India, they are still using low technology, hand labor. According to the magazine, many clothes are hung on rope in a field to be dried, however, it is changing from low tech to high tech.
Some users such as hotels and big laundry factories have been using Sankosha machines even in such situation for last 10years and more. Our expected customers have started to use machines.
I met some dry cleaners in the exhibitions whom I met before during Texcare Asia in Shanghai last year. They already started to study mechanization or high tech. And they are very interested in Sankosha machines, however, it is seemed that price of Sankosha is still too high. I suggest they should choose Ajax models made by Sankosha.

Ongoing project is behind original schedule.
3rd Day
I visited brand new dry cleaner, named BIANCA in Mumbai opened on 12th, February 2020. Their target is extremely high-end customers. Sankosha shirt body press and cuff’n collar have been installed there.
Their business is very unique in developing countries. The business of dry cleaners who is aiming high-end is good even in advanced countries in dry cleaning industry.
High end dry cleaner can continue to enjoy the business in both advanced and developing countries. In fact, a dry cleaner of Nigeria were visiting to see new factory when I was there.
